Biography

Mika Tan was born Saraswati Miyoko Kop Taetafa in Honolulu, Hawaii, to a Japanese-Samoan father and a mother of Taiwanese descent. She was raised by her grandmother, a popular dancer in the archipelago, singer, and owner of several massage parlors on the island. While her mother's family was more musical, her father's was primarily military. Her sister, for example, serves in the United States Navy.

From the age of 12, Mika Tan began modelling for children's clothing catalogues. In her teens she appeared as an extra in films and television commercials, as well as performing in plays, modern jazz and ballet.

Tan holds a degree in Biochemistry from San Diego State University, with an Associate's degree in Psychology. During her senior year of college, she worked as a nude model and stripper to support her studies. During that time, she appeared on Playboy TV in a music video called "Get in Where you Fit In".

Tan was discovered by porn director Jack Pearl, who encouraged her to start her career as a porn actress, which began in 1999. However, she described the first few months as an actress as the worst of her life. It was also during this time that she met her future husband, actor Alec Knight.

Retired in 2015, she went on to star in more than 670 films as an actress. 1
