moana pozzi

Moana Pozzi, born in Genoa, Italy, was a popular pornography actress and model. She lived in Canada and Brazil during her childhood, but returned to Italy at the age of 13. In 1979, she gave birth to her son, Simone, who was raised by her parents and told that his mother was his older sister. The family moved to France in 1980, and Pozzi, then 19, decided to stay in Rome.

In Rome, Pozzi started working as a model and studying acting, performing in television advertisements and comedy movies. Her first hardcore movie, Valentina, ragazza in calore (Valentina, Girl in Heat), was credited as Linda Heveret in 1981. A minor scandal ensued, but she was suspended from television, giving her first popularity in newspapers and magazines.

Pozzi performed in about 100 porn movies, mostly in Italy, but also some in Los Angeles with Gerard Damiano as director. She sold about 1 million videotapes and was on the covers of 50 major magazines. She was reportedly worth more than lire 50 billion (1990 prices), about 26 million euro.

In 1994, Pozzi fell ill, unable to eat without vomiting and losing weight. She took time off from work to travel with her husband Antonio Di Ciesco to India and France. She died in Lyon, France, on 15 September 1994, reportedly of liver cancer. The cause of her death has been a subject of debate, with numerous suggestions being made, including being a spy for the KGB or dying from an assisted suicide orchestrated by her husband.

In 2006, Simone Pozzi revealed to the public that he was her son, not her brother, as he had been raised to believe. Pozzi's mother confirmed the claims and published a book about her personality, career, and relationships.

Pozzi was a popular and beloved figure in Italy, making a name for herself outside of the pornography industry. Following her death, The New Yorker remarked on the country being in mourning and the Archbishop of Naples gave a homily in her honor.Pozzi inspired the main character of the 1999 film Guardami (Look at Me).

Moana Pozzi, an Italian adult-film star, was born on April 27, 1961, in Genova, Italy. She began her film career in 1981 and became a national sensation in Italy, surpassing even Cicciolina's popularity. In her 1991 autobiography, "La Filosofia di Moana," she hints at affairs and sexual liaisons with prominent Italian society figures, including former Prime Minister Bettino Craxi. She and Ilona Staller founded the Partito dellAmore (Party of Love), a political organization advocating for the legalization of brothels, improved sexual health, and "love parks."

However, she contracted liver cancer and died of the disease in Lyon, France, at 33. Dark rumors began circulating about her death, including AIDS, faked death, and allegations that prominent members of the new government had affairs with Pozzi. The film Guardami (1999) was released in 1999, largely based on her life. In 2005, Italian federal prosecutors announced a re-opening of the investigation due to errors and inconsistencies in the original official report. A report on Italian television revealed that she died of liver cancer and her body had been cremated.

In 2006, Simone Pozzi, raised by Moana's parents as their son, discovered that he is actually Moana's son, born when she was still a minor. The mainstream Italian movies Guardami (1999) and Moana (2009) are inspired by her true-life story. Her tattoos include a blue/red dragon tattoo on the back of her left wrist.
